The library has loads of valuable resources to help you move your teaching online, and the Liaison Team is here to help you with the process. We may not be able to physically touch our books at the moment, but check out the below for how you can use other enriching resources available. Ebooks

The library is currently trying to source as many Core Resource List items as possible in electronic format. Some aren’t made available electronically (no, I’m afraid Kindle versions don’t count), but we’ll shop around for them and let you know the outcome. Then all you need to do is link to the book via HunterLinks to an external site. in your Canvas module and your students will have their own carefully curated library at their fingertips.

Many of you have already sent us your lists so we can start sourcing the books, but if you notice something is missing, please contact your Liaison Librarian as soon as possible.

Scanned reading

If a book isn’t available electronically, we may be able to scan a section of it (10% or a chapter, as per copyright guidelines) and make it available as a pdf to all students via Canvas. The Library has created a number of guides relating to information skills, such as Library Essentials – get started with using the libraryLinks to an external site., EbooksLinks to an external site. and Literature SearchingLinks to an external site.. We’ve also created subject guides for most areas, including MedicineLinks to an external site., Occupational TherapyLinks to an external site., Biomedical ScienceLinks to an external site. and RadiographyLinks to an external site., which can be embedded directly into Canvas. It’s like having your own little librarian in your pocket!

Jove – Journal of Visualized Experiments

JoVELinks to an external site. is a peer-reviewed Video Journal, which has been developed with the flipped classroom in mind. Its short, engaging videos of visualised experiments can be embedded into Canvas to spruce up your Resource List.

Aclands Video Atlas of Human Anatomy

AclandsLinks to an external site. is an accessible resource of anatomical information, which contains almost too-realistic 3D visuals. Point your students towards the quiz section to have them check their understanding and test their knowledge (requires registering for a personal accountLinks to an external site.).

BMJ Learning

This resource features hundreds of accredited, peer-reviewed learning modules in text, video and audio formats. Supplement your teaching by linking to courses in CardiologyLinks to an external site., Respiratory and ENTLinks to an external site. and Practical SkillsLinks to an external site..
