Install/update the Myprogress app

Install the app

Locate and open the App store for your device (Google Play Store or App Store).
Enter 'Myprogress' in the search field.
Tap the Myprogress app and select INSTALL (for android) or GET (for iOS devices).
Tap OPEN to view and begin using the app.

Update the app

Important - Before you update the app check that all responses are synced and visible online.

Sign out of the app
- Tap the Menu
- Tap Settings
- Tap ‘Sign out’ at the bottom of the page.
Open the App store for your device (Google Play Store or App Store).
Enter 'Myprogress' in the search field.
If the only options available are UNINSTALL, OPEN, or GET your app is up to date. Otherwise, tap UPDATE.

Sign into Myprogress

Initial steps

Switch on your devices Wi-fi and open the Myprogress app.
Enter ‘sgul’ for the Service, then tap CONNECT.
Enter your Username (student number) and your student Password, then tap SIGN IN. (MBBS students should use their student number, e.g. m1001000 and the password associated with this. Radiography students should use the details supplied in their Myprogress 'welcome' email). When logged in successfully, you will be directed to the Assessments (your ‘Home’) page.
Set the App to ‘Remember me’ (so you do not have to log in each time you close and
open the App or switch off your tablet). To do this:
- Tap the Menu
- Tap the Settings icon (beside your username)
- Under ‘PERSONAL SETTINGS’ tap ‘Remember me’, ‘Only sync over Wi-Fi’ and ‘Enable
  pull down to sync’ to switch these functions on. All other switches should remain off.
Tap the BACK button (at the bottom of the device) to return to the Menu.

Sign in after password change

1. Open the app, tap the Menu, then Settings.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen then tap Sign out.
3. Repeat steps 2 – 5 under ‘Initial Steps’ to log in to the app with your new password.
4. Remember to also update your SGUL Wi-Fi settings to reflect this change. If you are not sure how to do this, contact ITAV@sgul.ac.uk.

Complete an assessment

Sign in to the app (you will automatically be directed to the Assessments page).
Scroll through the assessments list and lightly tap the Assessment you want to complete.
Hand your device to your assessor for completion or (if applicable) complete the assessment yourself.

Assessments will be made up of different questions types and may include some of the following (examples only):

Multiple Choice – select the correct answer from the given options

Free Text – type a response in the text box provided, then tap Save

Dropdown list – select the appropriate response from the list provided

Date/time – select the appropriate date/time from the calendar

Tap ABANDON if you opened an assessment in error, otherwise tap SAVE/SUBMIT in the top-right hand corner. All questions must be completed before the assessment can be sent. You will be provided with the following options to manage your assessment:

Complete this assessment – to submit a completed assessment

If this is an observational assessment your assessor will need to add his/her name and email address for validation purposes. Make sure these details are correct as incorrect details could delay validation of the assessment.
Tap OK to send. The assessment is moved to your Outbox, ready to be sent when you sync the device. To access this, tap the Menu icon, scroll down the list of folders then tap Outbox.

Email to your observer to complete - send the assessment to an observer to complete later

Complete the name and address of the observer in the required fields and they will be sent a link to the form when the device is synced. A link with details of the recipients of the emailed assessments and the date/time the app was synced is visible beside the assessment online.

Save this assessment for later (draft) – to save an incomplete assessment

Your assessment will automatically be moved to the Drafts folder. To access this, tap the Menu icon, scroll down the list of folders then tap Drafts.

Close – to close the current page

Submit an assessment

When you select ‘Complete this assessment’ the assessment is saved to your Outbox. It will not appear in your online account (which assessors and administrators use to confirm completion of assessments) until you sync the app on your device. So sync regularly when you have access to Wi-fi.

Ensure Wi-fi on your device is switched on and connected. If you experience problems contact the IT Helpdesk at ITAV@sgul.ac.uk.
Sign in to Myprogress and tap Menu then the Outbox folder. (You can sync from any other page however it is good practice to sync from the Outbox so you can see the assessments ready to sync.
Tap Sync.

Sync performs a 'Send and Receive' action; publishing all assessments from the Outbox of the app to your Myprogress account online. At the same time it will download any new assessments, comments and feedback. A notification will confirm whether the sync was successful.

Check that an assessment has submitted

Using your device

Tap the Menu then Outbox. It should now be empty, as all assessments should have been sent during the sync process.
Tap the Responses folder and check that all your completed and recently synced responses are there.

Using your online account

You must check that your assessment has been published to your online account as Wi-fi connectivity failures can cause issues with syncing. To do this:

Log in to Myprogress online. If you have Wi-fi connection, you can also check this using the Internet browser on your device.
From the left hand menu, click Completed assessments.
You will see a list of all your completed and published assessments and can review the responses/feedback. By default, the most recently submitted will appear first, but you can change this by selecting an alternative option from the ‘Sort by’ drop-down list.

Note: If your assessment has synced on the device (i.e. is in your Responses folder) but does not show up online, please contact the Myprogress Helpdesk at myprogress@sgul.ac.uk

Review a response

Sign in to the app.
Tap Responses, search for the assessment to be reviewed then scroll through the contents.
To exit, tap the exit icon.

Review feedback

Sign in to the app.
Tap Feedback then search for read the feedback you want to review.
To exit, tap Menu.

Mark an assessment as favourite

If you complete the same assessment regularly, you can mark it as Favourite so it is easier to locate. To do this:

Locate the assessment (from the Assessments list) and swipe it to the left of the screen to reveal the Favourite and Delete icons.
Lightly tap the Favourite icon.
The Favourite and Delete icons window will close and the assessment appear in your Favourites folder.
Tap the Menu icon, then tap Favourites. The folder will contain those assessments marked as Favourite.

Remove an assessment from favourite

If you no longer want to mark an assessment as favourite, you can remove this:

a) From the Assessments list

Swipe the assessment (marked as favourite) to the left of the screen to reveal the Un-Favourite and Delete icons.
Tap the Un-Favourite icon to remove the assessment from Favourites. The assessment marked as Un-Favourite will be removed from your Favorites menu.

b) From the Favourites list

Swipe the assessment to the left of the screen to reveal the Un-Favourite and Delete icons.
Tap the Un-Favourite icon. The assessment is immediately removed from the Favourites menu.

Archive an assessment

After time your response list may become long and difficult to navigate. The archive allows you to move responses to the Archive folder and still have access to them.

Tap the Menu, then tap Responses.
Swipe the assessment you want to archive to the left of the screen. This will reveal the Archive and Delete icons.
Tap the Archive icon. The assessment is immediately moved to the Archive folder.
Tap the Menu, then tap Archive to review the assessments that have been archived.

Remove an assessment from archive

To move an assessment from archive back to your Responses folder:

Tap the Menu, then tap Archive.
Swipe the assessment you want to remove from archive to the left of the screen. This will reveal the Un-Archive and Delete icons.
Tap the Un-Archive icon. The assessment is immediately moved to the Responses folder.
Tap the Menu icon, then tap Responses to review the assessment that has been moved.

Delete an assessment

If you no longer need to have an assessment on your tablet you can delete it. This deletes the response from your device but all completed and synced assessments will remain online.

Navigate to the folder that contains the assessment you want to delete.
Swipe the assessment to the left of the screen. This will reveal the Favourite and Delete icons.
Tap the Delete icon. (Please be aware that the Delete icon is different to the Delete All icon. Only use the Delete All icon if you want to delete all assessments from your COMPLETED folders).
You will be asked to confirm your choice, tap OK to remove the assessment.
The assessment is immediately removed from your device.

Delete all assessments

Swipe the assessment to the left of the screen. This will reveal the Favourite, Delete and Delete All icons.
Tap the Delete All icon. You will be asked to confirm your choice. All assessments will be deleted from your device, but remain online.

Resend an assessment to the app

If an assessment form is not available on your device, is faulty or has been deleted in error, you can re-send the assessment from your web account to the device. To do this:
1. Sign in to your web account
2. On the left hand menu click Assessments and find the assessment you need to resend to your device.
3. On the assessment panel, click Resend to mobile device.
4. A message confirms the 'Assessments is now ready to be synced to the device'.
5. Tap SYNC to send/receive the assessments. The assessment will appear in the ‘Assessments’ section of the app.
