If you are unable to record your lecture content for this academic year (we would highly recommend you do record so the students are being provided with accurate up to date information) then you can provide the Panopto recording from last year.

You can watch this video on how to copy and move content.

There are two ways you can do this.

By copying the video into this years folder.
By providing the link in the session page

Copy Videos across Panopto folders

You can copy the video from last year into your current Panopto folder.

Find the Panopto recording from last year > open the folder they are located in

Select Video (s)

Hover over video in the list view and select the ones you wish to copy

Once you select the videos you will be able to see the 'Copy' option appear at the top

Copy to another folder

You will then be able to use the drop down to select which Canvas module folder you wish to copy it to > hit copy > the video will then process.

You can check the current folder in Canvas and it will appear, this may take a few moments depending on how big the video is.

Copying the link into the session page

Find the Panopto recording from last year > open the recording

Open up sharing options

You can find the sharing options from either hovering over the recording in last years folder OR at the top of the page when you open the recording (you can only do this if you have creator rights in the folder, if you are enrolled onto the module as Module Lead or Teacher, you will be okay)

Make sure you set it to 'Anyone at your organization with the link' - very important!

Save

Make sure you save the new settings

Copy link

Copy the URL link for the Panopto recording from last year (this is found at the top of your browser eg: https://sgul.cloud.panopto.eu/Panopto/...)

Copy into Session Page

Open up the new session page on Canvas

Write appropriate text eg: lecture recording from last year / name of session
Highlight text
Find URL button in the Rich Content Editor

4. Insert link

Paste or type the URL you want to link to in the URL field [1]. Click the Insert Link button [2]. This is the Panopto URL you have just copied

Note: The text will flash yellow before turning into the hyperlink.

Save page

You can click on Units to look through the other helpful guides on how to use Canvas discussions, quizzes, conferences (Big Blue Button), Panopto for pre-recording lecture content and Microsoft Teams to support your teaching.
