Accessibility

Before you start to plan your use of a collaborative space for your learners, please bear in mind the accessibility restrictions this tool has. You can read more about their accessibility statement and how they are working on it but for now, we have listed the areas you need to consider:

If you have a learner who uses a screen reader you will need to invite them to the board (this is so they can navigate signing up/in with more ease)
The ability to use Miro and screen readers is only available on the desktop version of Miro

Security

As we only have access to the Education Plan (which is free) you need to be aware that you can not share any confidential/protected/copyrighted information on your boards. We highly suggest you set a password when sharing your board.

Design your board

Miro is incredibility creative and visual, to be able to truly experience all the tools - have a play. Let's create a board first to get you started.

From your Dashboard, click on '+New Board'

When you open a new board, it will always automatically ask if you would like to use a template, take a look around by previewing them and if you wish to use one to work from, once you hover over the template you can 'use template'

Frames

These act likes pages as your board is infinite, so you want to 'frame' areas or group activities together. Take a look through this guide to find out more.

We have listed some ideas in education that might be of use to get you started:

Asynchronous activities - before or after a session to support students learning away from the classroom/session, create a 'spring board' for your synchronous sessions with activities already underway
